I’m so going on a 10-day fruit detox after Christmas…

Out of coincidence I downloaded the release candidate for Windows Live Writer 2009 today and I must say I’m quite impressed. Seems to play really nicely with Wordpress and I’m going to give it a proper chance even though it’s Microsoft…

Since Blogdesk decided not to work on Vista for me I’ve been looking for a substitute, might this be it?

A really easy way to create a sideblog-feature; add this code in sidebar.php or in a text widget (if you have exec php or similar installed):

<?php query_posts('category=7&showposts=10'); ?>

<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

<h3><?php the_title(); ?></h3>
<?php the_excerpt(); ?>

<?php endwhile; ?>

This specific code would display 10 post from a category with ID=7.

Today I’m going nuts and posting…a recipe!!! But it’s sooo easy and sooo good I can’t keep it from you really…

Here it goes:

Oatmeal cookies
- 75 grams margarine or butter
- 1 deciliter sugar
- 1 deciliter oatmeal (grains, not oat flower)
- 1 deciliter white flour
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1-2 tablespoons milk
- 1-2 tablespoons light baking syrup

1. Melt the butter
2. Mix everything together
3. Put about 9 spots of mixture on each baking plate – small spots!! They grow…
4. Bake for about 5 minutes at 200 degrees (C).
5. Enjoy!

If you’re feeling adventurous you’ll dip them in melted chocolate when they’re done… *drools*

I’ve made a couple of empty themes to use when designing, they’re compatible with version 2.7 (mainly those nested comments) and I thought some of you out there might also find them useful.

They’re 100% translatable, valid XHTML Strict and CSS 2.1 (or at least they’re supposed to be) and I’m releasing them with no rights reserved. Use it, abuse it, sell it on Ebay… Do what you want with them.
