New Jolicloud screenshots!

I’m so waiting fot the release of Jolicloud, but I’ll have to make do with screenshots for now… ;)

New and improved: WP Blank at your service!

screenshot

I’ve tweaked my WP Blank theme a bit, making it even more basic than before and a lot more compact. Also, I fixed some issues with the validation and some other odds and ends…

Feel free to download and try it out, it free for any use (commercial or non-commercial). As always, I’d love to hear what you think about it!

(You can also download the original pack here.)

Jolicloud; Linux OS for netbooks in the works

ubuntu-logo Just yesterday I finally got around to replacing Linux Linpus Lite on my Aspire One with Ubuntu. This was my first real contact with Linux and I must say I was blown away by how easy it was to get it going. I can see why it’s the so far most popular distribution of Linux. And most importantly for me; it made my netbook about 10 times more useful…!

So, to get to the point of this post… Jolicloud is a Linux distribution being developed specifically for netbooks (the common name for those small and cheap laptops that are on their way to world domination and begun with the admirable One Laptop Per Child-organisation) and judging by the looks of this screenshot it seems like a little piece of heaven for our beloved itsy, bitsy computers… :)

Windows Live Writer 2009 Release Candidate

Out of coincidence I downloaded the release candidate for Windows Live Writer 2009 today and I must say I’m quite impressed. Seems to play really nicely with Wordpress and I’m going to give it a proper chance even though it’s Microsoft… ;)

Since Blogdesk decided not to work on Vista for me I’ve been looking for a substitute, might this be it?

An ode to Fallout 3

Fall Out 3 About two weeks ago my ten year wait was finally over – Fallout 3 was released.

Fallout isn’t just a game; it’s a way of life! Foul language, big guns and bloody messes… What’s not to love?

I was happily surprised that Bethesda actually has done a very good job in keeping the original feel of the game, but without simply replicating it’s predecessor. And as I said; we are quite a few out there that have been waiting eagerly for a decade and our expectations haven’t been small!

Actually, the only thing that bugs me with Fallout 3 is the levelcap. At level 20 I’m just getting warmed up, dammit!!

Admit it, you want one

USB cup warmerI’ve said it before and I’m saying it again: I need a USB cup-warmer!

I’ve been so had by the product text it’s embarrassing, but you can’t argue the fact that cold coffee is a computer geeks daily torment!

We’ve all been there. You’ve just brewed yourself a steaming cup of liquid Loveliness, you get back to your desk to a flurry of urgent emails and by the time you’ve averted all manner of minor disasters like the superhuman workhorse that you are, your cup of steaming refreshment is stone cold.

Maybe the fact that it’s a hub with 4 USB ports makes it a bit easier to defend buying…? ;)

XP Themes: Celestial by Thermoptic

Celestial screenshot A great looking theme/visual style for Windows XP, I’m using it myself.
